The hate and negativity comes from all angles and sources I will list where and how I have personally seen these demonstrations of hate and negativity.
Netizens:
People online who do not take time to educate themselves on K=pop hate on it because of many reasons these reasons include them thinking that it all sounds the same, they copy and steal american music. There is nothing original or unique about them. It's all about the looks. They only really know Psy but think they know what KPOP is.
Some people do not like Kpop or the fandoms of Kpop because of the fans of kpop.there are many rude and arrogant people who call themselves fans and hate on non kpop fans for their disinterest in the thing they are obsessed over. Which goes into the second reason there is a bad rep where kpop is involved.
Fandoms and Fans:
Fan wars are all around ugly and nasty be it between two kpop fandoms or a kpop fandom against an american one. There is no need for the hate and yet there is so much of it and that makes some people take a step back like "thanks but no thanks not worth being a fan over all this harassment" The idols and artists aren't like Trump they are not going to be happy and encourage the use of violence towards each other then are shaking their heads at you they are sighing to themselves and they are feeling sorry their fans have such bad behavior , They just can't say it outloud if they want to keep their jobs.
There were 2 articles I recently read about Kpop and why people hate it and why netizens hate international fans I will post from the article of why we are hated .
http://www.koreaboo.com/news/netizens-discuss-hate-international-k-pop-fans/
The one true fan that matters are the Korean ones the rest should just keep their mouths shut and accept everything as it is. Not all fans from Korea but a huge amount of them hate all other fans they accept Chinese and Japanese fans solely for the fact that They believe they spend enough money and promote them enough that although they hate them they can be tolerated. Because many KPOP stars go into the Japanese or Chinese music market they are putting money into their beloved "Oppa's" pocket. They claim that all other fans "international fans" do absolutely nothing to help support the idols we definitely do not buy albums or merchandise and see concerts according to them . And we definitely haven't spread awareness that has put them on a global platform either I suppose.
from the article this is one of the things that was said
"Japanese fans are useful since they attend many concerts and are profitable for K-pop artists. Chinese fans purchase many goods, support, vote relentlessly on various websites and help our artists become bigger. But the rest….?? haha"
So my drawer full of KPOP signed cds that I stayed up all night to watch the meet and greet for that I spent up to 304 buying each time was what? there were people from Canada which is where I live who bought 45 cds and more from MWAVE. there are websites for korean goods from korea that go towards charts and the likes where people buy cds and other merchandise from as well. Sharing things on Youtube that helps spread word about your artists it gets people to notice them and they even get credit when they have so many views on youtube. Do you think all those thousands of views and followers on twitter and instagram even weibo are all just Koreans Chinese and Japanese fans? I have a weibo , I have a Naver account I have a weibo account and I have instagram and twitter in which I follow my favourites on al of those if for just 1 day all international fans were to unfollow all things kpop related from youtube channels to twitter and instagram accounts how many followers would they lose? all those fans that buy tickets to concerts that aren't chinese japanese and korean what if they didn't go how full would the concert hall be? and what of the tours Asian tours, european tours and the American tours even the visits to Toronto those are always full capacity , we are helping them expand their worlds and go places they have always wanted to go. But nope we definitely don't do none of that and there were no fan wars over EMAs over Exo from international fans who were supporting and voting for them either I guess. heck if not for the rest of the world and not just korea and Japan and China who actually voted less for kpop stars and more for their own chinese stars Korea wouldn't have had anyone from kpop in the EMA's international fans helped make that happen chinese fans were why Chris Lee won.
This is what else they had to say
4. They always pretend to know EVERYTHING
In truth, they don’t know ANYTHING haha
When I see their comments, they write on things they have no clue over.
And then insult Korean fans and netizens with no reasons haha
And they act if they’re such generous and understanding beings haha
They always act as if they’re understanding…
Then they don’t understand why Korean fans act the way they do…
It is because Korean fans have their reasons okay? ^^
They always insult Korea and Korean netizens hahahaha
Especially on culturally sensitive topics, they have no clue yet they are so exasperating in their attitude….
Anyways, they always spread rumors and stories over things
They probably heard from people who accidentally misinterpreted or mistranslated from somewhere.
And then when a Korean fan or netizen try to fix their stories, they play dumb.
There is no communicating with these fans.

5. They always want to ‘preach’ Korean fans
Every time there is a controversy or an incident, all of their reactions are
‘Oh, Korean fans are being too harsh. Korean netizens????

HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH?????????????
What are they freaking talking about? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Yes yes you guys are all geniuses and Korean fans are dumb;
We, too, cannot understand your behaviors ^^
But at least we spend money for our artists.
You guys don’t even spend for them ^^
Downloading music illegally and sharing videos from YouTube haha”
According to shall we say "Local" fans we are ignorant and give nothing of value because we disagree with the way they do things. We support members who have gone their own way and we believe they are humans who have the right to a quality of life like everyone else. We do not think we know everything I think we are just more respecting and humane we accept the fact that life isn't perfect and shit happens. No one person is better than the next Yes yes you guys are all geniuses and Korean fans are dumb;
We, too, cannot understand your behaviors ^^
But at least we spend money for our artists.

Downloading music illegally and sharing videos from YouTube haha”
from the above article I will share some of what else was said
"They can’t do math
They keep yelling OTP (One True Pairing)
It means they support the group as an entirety
In Korean we say 10-1 = 0
They always support members who abandoned their group
?????????? (referring to fans continuing to support OT9, OT12 and such)
The basic math is 10 – 1 = 0 and 9 – 1 = 8 right?????
I personally don’t mind if they support it but it is too much."
One True Pair I always thought that was in regards to our ships by Ships I mean the couples we like to see together so I learnt something new if that is what it means , but yes we like to support everyone in what they decide as it's their lives they have the right to decide how they wish to live it. The fans there will demand things like kick them out the group kick them out others were demanding someone commit suicide once like are you shitting me?! and when the member actually did get kicked out and vanished they were mad about that too like you got what you asked for why are you still bitching?
Another part from that article is
"2. Their delusional fantasies are over the top
Many fans love secretly pairing up their favorite idols together
But international fans ESPECIALLY love pairing up male idols and female idols.
Even on YouTube, you can see I’m telling the truth.
It doesn’t just end there but try to ‘manage’ those members on relationships (?)
They LOVE spamming on the comment sections with the same comments and pictures.
They love mentioning artists that have NOTHING to do with the post or video they’re watching. With their actions, the idols who are in good relations with each other might even drift apart ^^"
First things first when I read this I thought DUH guys and girls should be paired together. Though A LOT of fans do pair guys with guys but they mainly do that in fun and it's not like they aren't encouraged by the "oppas" in the first place with their "fan service" As for trying to manage an idols relationship I'm sorry but that's far more likely to be from the Asian specially Korean ,china japan fans far more than international fans. After all it wasn't US who wanted Sulli gone because of her relationship. I do agree however about posting about others in the comments . However I doubt that the idols drifting apart would have anything to do with international fans we don't hold nearly as much power over them as their own countries fans do.
3. They want EVERYTHING in English
Most of the fans LOVE just looking at what their biases write on their SNS whether or not they understand it. And most of the fans just translate it through a translator or wait for a fan to translate it for them.But….. These international fans… When their biases don’t write in English They complain and ask their oppas and unnis to write it in English.
“Oppa, English please” “Unni, English please”
Why does a Korean artist need to write in English…?
Sure it would be great if they wrote something in English but it shouldn’t be a requirement? I don’t understand when some international fans demand things be written in English as well.."
Once again I do understand this from both aspects They shouldn't have to write in english but if they can write in english it would be nice to see from time to time after all english is a universal language and they are trying to be world renown artists. They want to build better relationships with their fans what better way then that . I do agree we shouldn't demand anything from them but asking them to write in english if they can isn't so bad compared to the controlling nature of demanding them to be cut from a series or demanding they be dropped from a group due to a mistake of youth sometimes.
Back to reasons why North Americans and Americans may dislike kpop this article had 7 reasons and I wanted to expend on what they had written http://www.hellokpop.com/featured/7-reasons-why-people-hate-k-pop-and-how-to-respond-to-them/
so I will copy their reasons and say my piece much like the person of the article had done.

#1 THRESHOLD OF ORIGINALITY
Probably the most frequently used reasoning is that K-pop is unoriginal. It supposedly copies American music, heavily relies on samples and “steals” from other artists.
Remember how above I wrote this ...People online who do not take time to educate themselves on Kpop hate on it because of many reasons these reasons include them thinking that it all sounds the same, they copy and steal american music. There is nothing original or unique about them. It's all about the looks. They only really know Psy but think they know what KPOP is.
And so here I shall continue with saying one thing nothing in art comes from an original thought as we all use references from our pools of knowledge. From mythology or from an idea we got when inspired by something else. Sampling is an art that has been done by artists all over the world I mean most music uses the 4 magic chords which are used in just about any and every mainstream popular songs.I will also add part of what she had replied because it's my exact sentiments. And gives examples I am too lazy to get for myself
Do you think American artists (or European, for that matter) don’t employ samples or build upon others’ works? Maybe you don’t realise it, but there are hardly any artists who do not utilize sampling. Hip-hop, the genre itself, is well-know for building on samples, from Eminem’s My Name Is sampling Labi Siffre’s I Got The… to Coolio’s epic Gangsta’s Paradise drawing upon (basically reworking) Pastime Paradise by Stevie Wonder. But huge hits like Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby, U Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer, Come with Me by Sean Combs (sampling Led Zeppelin), or (sic) by Slipknot all utilise samples. Skrillex is also known for using loops in his songs – and there are many, many more examples.
Also there are many Artists who legally get the rights to use songs like G Dragon to name one of them.
#2 LYRICS
The number two reason people cite for hating K-pop is “mindless” lyrics, repetitive words, the use of random English, and generally “bad quality” lyrics.
Well, I cannot argue that some of the K-pop lyrics are not shallow. Or ridiculous. So, if we look at American lyrics, they are much better in quality – I would assume, since haters prefer American music.
I would like to point out that there are so many artists who use repetitive lines in their songs or have lyrics that make little to no sense to most people who listen to them. Also adding random lyrics in a different language as well .
Lady Gaga: Bad romance adds random french in it in a predominately english song is repetitive and when you actually look at the lyrics part of you can't help but go HUH?
The song starts with the intro then the hook repeats twice
Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah-ah!
Roma-roma-mamaa!Ga-ga-ooh-la-la!
Want your bad romance
this gets said 2 more times in the whole song as for the intro/ bridge which is
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh-oh-oh-oh-oooh-oh-oh-oh!
Caught in a bad romance
Caught in a bad romance
gets said 5 times
Then lets see the rest shall we
I want your ugly
I want your disease
I want your everything
As long as it's free
I want your love
(Love-love-love I want your love)
I want your drama
The touch of your hand
I want your leather-studded kiss in the sand
I want your love
Love-love-love
I want your love
(Love-love-love I want your love)
You know that I want you
And you know that I need you
I want it bad, your bad romance
I want your love and
I want your revenge
You and me could write a bad romance
(Oh-oh-oh--oh-oooh!)
I want your love and
All your lovers' revenge
You and me could write a bad romance
I want your disease
I want your everything
As long as it's free
I want your love
(Love-love-love I want your love)
I want your drama
The touch of your hand
I want your leather-studded kiss in the sand
I want your love
Love-love-love
I want your love
(Love-love-love I want your love)
You know that I want you
And you know that I need you
I want it bad, your bad romance
I want your love and
I want your revenge
You and me could write a bad romance
(Oh-oh-oh--oh-oooh!)
I want your love and
All your lovers' revenge
You and me could write a bad romance
Yup nothing repetitive about any of this right?
look over the lyrics to see the rest here http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/l/lady_gaga/bad_romance.html
then as the original article showed Rihanna and Beyonce are also two fans of repetition be it in new stuff or old stuff alike.
Rihanna has songs like Work which honestly is very popular according to some but wtf is she saying in half of the damn song?
then you have diamonds where she repeatedly says shine bright like a diamond
next beyonce
Run the world, Single ladies these two songs have very obvious repetition
the another popular song right now is Work by Fifth Harmony that also has repetition in it.
in the original article they wrote Kanye Mercy for weird lyrics and I'm too lazy to look through my song lists to find any others.
There are so many really good korean songs that use english in just the right places where they make sense . Also there are Artists who make english songs that are pretty damn good depending on the genre you like. I love listening to FTISLAND
as the article had Tablo is also an amazing choice. Or if you want the slow and less auto tuned type of song you can check OST's they have the best songs in my opinion.
#3 ALL THE SONGS SOUND THE SAME
Seriously? I cannot really take this kind of attitude as a serious argument, so I would say, you need an ear check-up, urgently! Or listen to something else than Psy’s Gangnam Style and Gentleman in a row…
Three random songs from this year. Do they sound the same? Or alike? Even a tiny bit?
Sistars I like that
Got7 Playground I do Hooked and Around the world
#4 PLASTIC SURGERY
This is a popular one. I mean, as a reason to hate on K-pop. Here’s the deal: yes, some K-pop artists have gone under the knife, while others have not. Contrary to popular (ignorant) opinion, not everyone has had surgery. Besides, it’s not as if American artists haven’t had such jobs done. The most famous examples are Cher and Michael Jackson, but Mariah Carey, Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears also have had some done. And of course, this is not even a complete list of Western celebrities who’ve had a little work done here and there.
So what’s the big deal with K-pop plastic surgery? Everywhere in the entertainment industry there is a standard of beauty, whether we like it or not. It’s not like this is a K-pop-exclusive phenomenon.
she pretty much said it all watch the video attached in the original article to understand more. there is not much to add other than what does plastic surgery have to do with music? is it the nose and eyes singing the song?
#5 ALL THE GUYS LOOK GAY/FEMININE
and it's a problem why exactly? Not that all of them look that way, Also why does that equal gay anyways? there are many men out there who are very manly and are gay and many more feminine looking men who aren't. I will add what she had to say as well.
‘Flower boys’, as they are called in Korea, is a social phenomenon, not just a pop industry flick. It involves multiple layers and is more complex than you would ever think. Shortly, young Korean men tend to spend more time on grooming themselves than Western men. Using cosmetic products like BB creams, foundation or eyeliners is not an awkward thing. It’s part of a social expectation of having to look your best. It’s not going to make anyone gay. “Gayness” is not an illness you can catch by using make-up. K-pop is also a visual package, built on imagery, color, texture. It’s a different culture, but different does not mean worse and definitely does not mean ‘gay’.
If you would like to know some background about the development of flower boys in Korea, read this article. We do admit, that this poses an obstacle to the spread of K-pop in the mainstream market, but that is due to the immediate prejudice – people like to hate on things they don’t understand, rather than take the time to educate themselves about it.
To name a few who are not feminine there is Shinwa, tablo , Big Bang's taeyang & seungri, Siwon Choi and Shindong from Super junior, Shorty & mighty mouse.

#6 K-POP IDOLS CANNOT SING
Now, this is probably the most ignorant “argument” of all. These people clearly haven’t seen any live K-pop performances, or maybe they stumbled upon some groups of lesser quality. Does that mean that EVERYONE in K-pop is a bad singer? Every genre has better and worse singers. American music does too. Have you heard Ailee belt out her heart? Have you ever seen XIA Junsu perform live? Have you ever listened to and got shivers down your spine from Lee Honggi’s voice? Jaejoong‘s magical tenor? Or 17-year-old Lee Hi‘s blasting vocals? No? Then you know nothing about K-pop singers’ vocal abilities, and I’m sorry.
everything she said was on point but I would also like to add some like IU, Jessica Jung, Suzy Bae, Jun K from 2pm and so many others just watch Song 4 You or IMMORTAL SONGS 2 . This has a bunch of idols singing a song live.
#7 K-POP IS MANUFACTURED
Apparently, this is a problem. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but do you think your favourite American artists are not “manufactured”? You do know, don’t you, that pop musicians everywhere on the globe have managers, stylists, make-up artists, PR and marketing teams, who work on their images, who tell them what to say and not say to the media, prepare them for concerts and events and take care of their daily needs?
What makes K-pop “different” is that it is all systematic. They have an agency which incorporates all these functions, instead of contracting subcontractors (management company, PR agency, marketing agency, stylist etc). Lady Gaga has a PR agency. She has contracted a company that manages her relationship with her fans. It’s all about branding, and if you think all the branding behind American megastars is done by the artists themselves, then you are fatally mistaken. These people wouldn’t even have time to do everything themselves. The only difference is that all this is done by one agency in Korea, without giving the work to several subcontractors.
Musically speaking, American artists, too, have producers who write and compose songs for them. Some singers do contribute to their own songs. Others merely sing what famous (or less famous) songwriters give them. That’s how it works globally, from Norway to Peru. So, why is it a problem that some K-pop singers aren’t songwriters?
Just like with American artists, some do write their own songs, and recently, there are more and more idols who actively participate in production. G-Dragon has 141 songs to his name and receives almost a million dollars a year in royalties from them. Among others, Block B members, H.O.T’s Kangta, Shinhwa’s Minwoo, Beast’s Junhyung, FTISLAND and CNBLUE members, Tablo, Jay Park, the members of JYJ, have all contributed to their albums.
The ladies don’t have to hide, either. Brown Eyed Girls’ Miryo and Jea, Secret’s Zinger, Wonder Girls’ Yenny, G.NA, Juniel, BoA, and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri have all composed and written songs – and this list is nowhere near complete.
Well they said it all in this one like really this last reason is all ignorance related because they do not even try to educate themselves on how the entertainment business works. Americans are more likely to use ghost writers over Koreans. That is just my opinion mind you , Singer of all about that bass has mentioned it as well that there are many artists that she personally knew claimed to write something that she knew wasn't true at all but she didn't disclose any names. She even admitted that she herself had almost become a ghost writer. I don't think there is much more to say on this reason.
so this is nearing the end of my post reasons why people do not like kpop are mainly in my opinion because they haven't given it the proper chance or found the right fit for their preferences. Or they do not have the patience to deal with ignorant people who do not know how to be polite and allow you to have your own opinion , morales and virtues. There are many people I know who only follow Kpop in a musical way buying cds and watching videos but will not read any articles or anything like that because there is too much drama attached to it. I am that type of kpop fan I will buy cds or singles i enjoy. Watch the dramas they are in , movies or music videos tv appearances. I do not read anything about them news related because I get angry at the things that happen to them , the way they are treated and the lack of respect fans , netizens and society alike have . The thing that ruins most enjoyable things are peoples behaviors and attitudes and that will forever remain true. Some people just have no interest in different languages and cultures so it's just not an interest to them. Some people do not like the shallowness of the fandoms or do not wish to follow the herd like mentality. On one of my other blogs I wrote that KPOP fandoms were like cults and some people really want to stay away from that kind of thing and I don't blame them the world of KPOP can be a scary and dangerous place but please don't hate on people and throw shade at them for liking it.
