Everyone has scars

Here are two things I wrote a long while back.

everyone has scars

Everyone has scars in their hearts
they wish no one to see
but if you chose to reveal them
you just might set yourself free

there comes a time
when everything seems wrong
no matter what you do
it feels as if you don't belong

everyone has doubts
everyone feels pain
some of us use violence
under hatred, fear and strain

some of us find solace
pleasure wrapped in pain
some of us search for help
others stand alone
some of us try to hide it
others let it show

some people fear judgement
others fear the pain
some of us are shadows
though it's only in our minds
some run from the hurt
others from the fear
some run from Anger
or things they don't want to hear

everyone needs someone
to love them for who they are
everyone needs someone
to lend a shoulder, hand or ear
I'd like to be that someone
for him, her and you
I might not solve your problems
but I can still be here for you

I may not know your story
but if you want I'll tell you mine
or when we speak to each other
we can leave it all behind
everyone has secrets embedded in their hearts
everyone has scars from things we can't control
love can heal all heartbreaks
or that's what I've been told

it's been forever
since I've heard those words
that take me higher
then the birds

it's been too often
I've felt the pain
that shatters my confidence
that drives me insane

I feel the releif
I feel the shame
I feel the happiness
I feel the blame

I see the anger
the pain
the fear
see the frustration
so very clear

where is the love?
the regret
where is the comfort
the passion
the hope

where is the end
where do we start
how do we heal
these scars in our hearts

written the same day as the other
